Who is Nyakya T. Brown?
Nyakya T. Brown has been a proud resident of the Village of South Floral Park for over 43 years. Nyakya Brown learned early that she and her family were called to serve. As a child, she and her brother, Elvin, witnessed and assisted their mother and father in helping families in the community. Her mother, Elizabeth, has served as South Floral Park Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary president for over 20 years. Her father, Amos, has served as a South Floral Park volunteer firefighter for more than 35 years. The daughter of a Vietnam veteran, Nyakya learned the importance of respect and honor from her father, while her mother taught her how to face challenges and create solutions leading to new opportunities. Together, they parented and taught their children the importance of being committed, working together, and embracing community throughout their 50 years of marriage.
